MITI Expands Support in the Asia/Pacific Region with New Partner, MBS

Australia's Leading MultiValue and IBM U2 Distributor, Meier Business Systems, will provide MITS expertise in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia

SEATTLE, WA, June 9, 2004 - Management Information Tools, Inc., and Meier Business Systems (MBS), with offices in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia, announced an agreement establishing MBS as a source for MITS maintenance, support and upgrades in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. Under the agreement, MBS will also be a local resource for first and second line support to MITS customers.

"The MultiValue market in Asia Pacific is very active, and developing a set of customer relationships in this region is an important part of our overall business strategy," said Fred Owen, MITI's General Manager. "MBS is the right partner for MITI, with an experienced, professional staff and a stellar reputation for outstanding customer support. They will enable us to broaden our reach, deliver much needed data reporting solutions and consulting to this market, and ultimately succeed in the Asia Pacific region."

"We are proud to have MITI as our partner, and to add the support of its world-class OLAP/BI products to our portfolio," said Martin Meier, Managing Director, MBS. "MITS compliments our core product and service offerings and provides our reseller network with an excellent opportunity to also add value to their end-users. We feel confident about this agreement because of MITI's innovative next-generation technology and strong commitment to support and service."

MBS has been selling the MITS product for many years as an IBM distributor. It is now authorized to provide phone, fax and email support and troubleshooting services directly to any MITS user in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. In addition to using MBS as their source for MITS products, customers now have the expanded option of using the MBS support team as their local source for MITS support, maintenance and upgrades.

"MBS has a long-standing record of providing first and second level support and consulting services to the MultiValue community in the Asia Pacific region," Owen said. "With its existing support infrastructure, experience, and in-house technical skills, this new support partnership is a natural fit for MBS and solidifies its position as the regional MITS expert."

In 2001, having been a successful IBM hardware and software Business Partner for almost 10 years, MBS was appointed by IBM as a distributor for all U2, MITS, SB, RedBack and associated products. Shortly after that, MBS acquired the Australian SB Tech U2 and SB distribution business. As an integral part of the ongoing delivery of product and support in the region, MBS provides product licenses, support, maintenance, education and many other products and services to its vast reseller network and end user community.

MBS has held a number of road shows and events around Australia showcasing MITS. Meier explained: "Our intention is to encourage the majority of our resellers to integrate MITS as a value-add into their application. This is already in progress with the Masterpack distribution and warehousing application packages - a leading ERP solution developed in UniVerse and SB+."
