MitsServer
Data Extraction/Transformation Engine
The data extraction portion of MitsServer pulls data from the operation system, performs any data cleansing, and passes it to the
transformation portion of MitsServer. The transformation portion summarizes and converts the data into a format that provides for the viewing
of summarized data as well as the ability to drill-down to lower levels. The data is then written into the MITS Hypercube.
The MitsMaker program is used to configure this portion of MitsServer. See the MitsMaker tour for more detailed information on how a MITS
Application is configured. Once the application has been configured with MitsMaker, the actual extraction and transformation (or "build")
process can take place.
MitsServer's extraction and transformation engine does not require the MitsMaker program to operate. By using a specific command at T/ECL the
MitsMaker extraction and transformation engine can be loaded and instructed to begin the build process. The MitsMaker program is only required
to configure the application, not to perform the actual extraction and transformation of the source transactions.
